Digital Design Batik Ornament

Program Description
This course allows the students to learn how to make batik ornaments and motifs and customize it by using jBatik software program. It also gives the opportunity to the participants to know more about batik and its distinctive characteristic from the classic to this modern time.

JBatik is a design software developed by Pixel Indonesia. Originally developed to create variations of traditional batik motifs, the use of JBatik has expanded to other fields, such as architecture, packaging and automotive. The use of this software will become part of the course program and the students will get to make a beautiful batik ornaments from the software, guided by the qualified and professional mentors.

  • Learning about Indonesia’s batik ornaments and motifs
  • Learning how to use jBatik Software program
  • Making a batik motif design

WORKSHOP AND TRIP PROGRAM (WTP)

BATIK TECHNIQUE WITH NATURAL DYE

Program Description
This course offers the students the chance to learn about traditional Batik technique in its original place in Pekalongan, Central Java. It gives the students hands-on experience to use canting and stamp technique in a batik-making process. The students will also get to learn about the traditional textile dyeing technique with natural dyes, such as Indigofera.

Learning a natural dying process in Batik

Experiencing the ambience of traditional batik culture in the origin city of Batik, Pekalongan
